First of all, congratulations!
This may seem a little obvious, but you’ve put in a lot of time and hard work into graduating! We recommend taking some time to relax and enjoy graduating. It’s important to still stick to a routine during this time to not lose track of your goals and how you plan to achieve them.
Updating your resume and cover letter
The first thing that future employers expect when you graduate is see will be your resume and cover letter, making it important to have both as up to date as possible. During your time at school, you will have completed multiple courses that will directly help you in your career. Take notes of important projects and assignments that you can use to give examples on your resume. This is especially great for those who may not have any experience in their field yet.
For example, were you a business student? Maybe you had to pitch an idea to a client or your teacher and try to sell them on why your teams idea was the best. This is a great thing to include on your resume to help provide some real-life experience.
Do some research on careers that interest you
Some college and university programs are broad and can lead to multiple job opportunities. Take some time to think about what exactly you want to do and how to get there. Look into what typical career paths look like. For example, you might start as a Communication Coordinator and eventually move up to a management position in that field!
